Abstract
Prompt Gamma-Ray Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA) is a well-established tool for nondestructive elemental analysis of bulk samples. At Los Alamos National Laboratory, we are investigating the use of PGNAA as a diagnostic tool for a number of applications, particularly matrix characterization for nondestructive assay corrections and plutonium surveillance. Results of experiments to characterize matrix materials for safeguards applications are reported.
